PPD ALLERGY
More & more people are suffering from PPD reactions.
PPD is Paraphenylenediamine & is found in hair colours (mainly permanent ones but not always).
It is essential to carry out a patch test before every permanent hair colouring process. This must be done 48 hours before the hair colour is applied.
If there are any signs of redness, itching or irritation then it is not advisable to continue with the colouring process.
This applies to home hair colouring or having your hair coloured professionally in a salon. Your Hair Salon should always carry out a skin test as you can become sensitive at any time.
We use the COLOURSTART patch tests in our salon which are easy for the client to apply at home & then can be checked & removed in the salon.
